Think of Google Maps, YouTube, Gmail, and plain old Google search. When you have a Google account and specifically a Google+ page, Google likes you, because, well, you're giving Google business! Your business Google+ page will show up in searches.
Plus, you'll be able to control your Google Map listing, ensure you're even on the map, have a YouTube account, and more. Worry less about managing your Google+ page as you do your Facebook/Twitter pages (however, a picture and some posting is helpful) since the plain old truth is fewer people care about and use Google+. In 2012, 30% of users who made a public post on their Google+ page never make a second post (Huffington Post). Yikes.
